Dear families,
We’re already in full swing during classes, learning routines for our “Peter Pan Ballet & Our Favourite Things Showcase”!
Please see some information below regarding the production and showcase.
IMPORTANT DATES
Friday 21st Nov - Showcase Rehearsal @ Studio. Approx 4pm-7pm. (classes required - jazz, acro, tap, hip hop, troupes, contemp 2-5)
Friday 28th Nov - Cut off for all WWCC submissions for volunteering for 29th/6th/7th dates.
Saturday 29th Nov - Ballet Dress Rehearsal @ Studio. Approx 10.30am-6pm. (classes required - all ballet classes, contemp 1 except BAB Thurs). Cut off for presale orders & payments of videos & photos.
Saturday 6th Dec - Tech Rehearsal @ Viewbank College. Approx 8am-6pm (schedule to come - showcase 9am-1pm, Ballet 12pm-6pm)
Sunday 7th Dec - Shows 10.30am & 4pm. Call times from 8am.

PRODUCTION TICKETING -
If children 3 and under are attending, they are welcome to sit on adults laps. Please note: tickets are non refundable.
Tickets pre-orded & paid can be redeemed via trybooking - https://www.trybooking.com/DHBMN - opens Sat 15th Nov.
Ticket purchases are $42.50 (inc booking fees) via trybooking.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESS - If you require seats with wheelchair access please contact ASAP - no later than Nov 14th
PHOTO PACKAGE - Preorder price $40.00 per family, payable by cash. ($50 after Nov 29th). We again have the amazing Dominic Steele Creative taking photos during our shows and photos are generally then available for families early in the new year. Photos will be downloadable and unlimited.
VIDEO - Preorder price $40.00 per show, payable by cash. ($50 after Nov 29th). We are very excited to have engaged a new videographer for our upcoming shows and will have the videos prior to the end of the year.
DAA MERCHANDISE
2025 DAA tshirts and hoodies are available to order - payment by cash will be required. We have a range available on hand to order/buy as a first come basis.
All other orders will be pre-ordered and available early December - cut off for presale items is November 14th.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals (sometimes dress rehearsals) will be held during regular class time prior to the production weekend, please ensure your child attends all classes. Should your child be unable to attend a class please advise via the parent portal. It is also advisable for your child to wear their body stocking during Term 4 classes for trying on costumes during class.
The rehearsal for showcase classes (acro, jazz, hip hop, troupes, tap, contemp 2-5) will be held on Friday 21st November at the studio. This rehearsal will be held approx between 4pm-7pm. Please keep the afternoon available, a schedule will be provided closer to the day. If in multiple classes please allow the full time As previous events we will also require some volunteers on the day - 1 per class.
The dress rehearsal for ballet/contemp 1 classes will be held on Saturday 29th November at the studio. This rehearsal will be held approx between 9am - 5.30pm. Please keep the day available, a schedule will be provided closer to the day. If in multiple classes please allow the day. As previous events we will also require some volunteers on the day - 1 per class.
The tech rehearsal will be held on Saturday Dec 6th at Viewbank College PAC. This rehearsal will be held approx between 8am - 6pm. REHEARSAL/PRODUCTION BACKSTAGE VOLUNTEERS & WWCC
All backstage volunteers MUST have a working with children's check. If you do not have a WWCC we suggest you apply now as it can take several weeks via https://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/
No other adults will be backstage without being a pre-registered volunteer with a WWCC.
We suggest all those with Build A Ballerina & Dance Art families apply for a WWCC if you do not have one already.
WWCC must be sent in to info@danceartistryaustralia.com.au by 28th November (if already submitted & not expired/changed in the last year no need to resend).
For production day please consider watching show 1 and volunteering show 2 as we always have a uneven amount of volunteers across the 2 shows.
Recommend discussing in your class groups to see which parents are available to do which show / rehearsal.

ATTIRE (Hair, shoes, tights & other items required)
Body stockings are recommended for all students and compulsory for all students in multiple classes/performances.
Additional attire requirements will be confirmed asap and these will be loaded to the parent portal in the “COSTUMES” section. Some classes have already been loaded. See information here.

COMMITMENT and the IMPORTANCE of attending classes and REHEARSALS
The end of year production and showcase at Dance Artistry Australia / Tiny Dancer is a great opportunity for both parents and students; it is a fun and exciting time for all! If you would like to participate, be aware that it is a commitment to you, your child, our teachers and other classmates/parents. It is expected that students attend all dance classes and rehearsals in order to learn the dances and perform at their best. If you plan on going away or make other commitments, we would appreciate it if you could please arrange with class, rehearsals and concert dates in mind.
Our teachers, choreographers and administration spend a considerable amount of time outside class hours preparing and arranging the choreography, staging, styles as well as editing music. Our teachers may not always teach a dance in its exact order and we expect that our dancers will rise to the occasion and stay focused in class and during rehearsal to stay connected throughout the development of our storyline. Rehearsal and class time are when our dancers perfect the steps, work on technical execution and combine their creativity with their fellow dancers. As an essential part of a dancer’s education, we expect our students not to miss class/rehearsal, be on time and be respectful to teachers and fellow dancers. We understand that on occasion we have had to reschedule classes on our end, due to circumstances beyond our control. We endeavour to reschedule these at appropriate times.

FAQS
Call Times - Call time is the time you need to arrive. 5 minutes prior to the call time is fine, no earlier is needed.
Body stockings - Body stockings are to be to worn like underwear. So first skin tone undies, then the body stocking and then tights. Compulsory for all students in multiple classes.
What time do we need to be there & how long will it be? Please refer to the schedules on DSP files and documents for the appropriate day / time and location for your child (to come closer to the date). See step by step information here.
Can I stay with my child at rehearsal/production? All drop offs are drop and go unless you have already registered to be a backstage change room supervisor and provided your WWCC.
What does my child need to wear or how do they need to have their hair? Please refer to the costumes section on DSP (loading as available). See step by step information here.
